Where can I go if I have other questions about
the game?
You can join a discussion in a community forum. One of the best is located
at The Sims Resource. |
What are "Hot Date +", "Vacation +" and "Superstar +"
outfits and what do I do with them?
These outfits are specially
made to be purchased in the Sims 1 downtown shops, vacation desitnations and Studiotown
with the Hot Date, Vacation or Superstar expansion packs. These outfits, when purchased
will become your default clothing for pajamas, formal wear and swimsuits
and more. These files install the same way all other clothing is added to The Sims 1. |

Why can't I see my downloads in The Sims 2?
To check your game options. Start up
your game and go to a neighborhood screen. From the options wheel in the lower left corner,
select the (...) icon, then the gears icon and make sure you check "On" in the Catalogs
Display Custom Content area. Once you've done this restart your game and all of the things
that you've installed should appear in the catalogs in the game.

Can I use your stuff on my site?
In general, the answer is no. There are a few parts of our items you may use:
You may make new color options for our TS2 furniture, but you need to send your user to get the
original item here so it will show up in their game.
Some of our items are linked to the Maxis items and will automatically add recolors when you make
a color option for the original. For example, if you make a new counter color, all users that have
our upper cabinets will see your texture as a choice for the upper item as well. You may use these
in your screenshots if you'd like, to demonstrate the versatility of your new texture.
You may use our clothing and hair meshes for both the Sims 2 and the Sims 1 on your site, as long as
you give us credit for it and link back to WDS. For TS1, include the .cmx and .skin files with
your item. For TS2, include the MESH_x.package file with your item.

How do I enable custom content in Open for Business and/or Nightlife?
There are two screens you need to interact with when you first start your game. The first
comes up when you first install the game and it looks like this. Make sure you check the
box marked "Enable Custom Content."
As soon as your game finishes loading, exit and this change will take place. The screen will
continue to appear every time you load the game but you can tell it to stop by going to your
options on the menu by clicking the gears icon and select "Off" under the "Display Custom
Content Dialog at Startup" option.
If you aren't getting the opening screen at startup, go to the menu and select "On" so it
comes up and you can change your preference. Always remember to restart your game everytime
you change your option before you begin to play.

I've installed Open for Business and/or Nightlife and some of your downloads don't show up. What do I do?
Our previous instructions told you to make a downloads folder if one didn't exist. If you've installed
Nightlife, you'll need to put everything from your downloads folder into a folder you can find again.
Close your game and start BodyShop and then close body shop. This should make a good working downloads
folder for you in the location:
My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads
