Simsite down for 10 minutes finds
Lost Sims hosting skins, objects

The webmaster of popular Simsite 'Just
So Sims' was reported to be 'aghast' today as he
realised that his entire collection of skins and objects
was available on Lost
Sims, the website devoted to hosting other peoples'
stuff after they close down.
'I
wouldn't mind so much,' he said 'except that I haven't actually
closed down; I was just offline for 10 minutes due to a
server re-boot'
But
carefree hosts Lost Sims remained unrepentant. Anonymous
webmaster Sinful responded:
'Just So Sims was clearly unavailable for a full 10 minutes,
and was therefore, technically, closed.'
'Obviously,
we have to wait for a reasonable period after a site closes
before hosting their stuff,' she continued.
'For example, when SimsLoft
closed down, we waited for a whole 22 days before
ripping them off.'
'But
in this case, we knew the fans would be hurting, so we put
up the Just So Sims skins after 5 minutes, and the objects
after a full 8 minutes had elapsed.'
Lost
Sims maintains that they will not host Sims downloads if
the webmaster objects.
Except
in the case of Jenny
Sim Home, of course.

Top hottie for Issue 16 was Sim Raider, by Scarlett

speak louder than words with a massive 7.5 Hot Units.
Sadly, this failed to oust any of the long-standing Top

and Patricia (Dollar
General Sims) will surely give them a run for
their money. Had they paid anything.

2001 Stare-Out Finals open in
SimsVille
Highlights
from day one
| Extreme sports fans everywhere converged on SimsVille
this weekend for the opening of the 2001 World Stare-Out
Finals. |
|
Long-considered too dangerous for the mainstream, Stare-Outs
hit the professional sports agenda earlier this year
with the introduction of polarised
safety screens, an innovation that allowed competitors
to stare for up to 16 hours without eyestrain or migraines.
New rules, allowing the use of conversational gambits
to distract opponents, have also added to the sport's
appeal.

Jean
'Laser' Beam bows out
|
Excitement has also mounted with the early exit of hot
stare favourite Jean Beam, earlier today. After a tense
27-hour battle, Jean finally blinked under the intense
optical onslaught of wildcard entry Ray Trace, confounding
expert predictions of yet another all-woman stare-out
final. |
|
Tickets to the final, hosted in Sandoval Hall, are selling
fast, and sports fans everywhere are advised to book
early.

SimLounge reveals that yet another
small fansite is 'not as good' as SimFreaks

Another
full and frank critique from SimLounge
In
a shock announcement that is sure to rock the fansite world
to its very foundations, SimLounge
today revealed that a small fansite was 'not as good' as SimFreaks.
The
surprise announcement from the much-loved and ever-so-slightly-biased
Sim review site follows last week's controversial conclusion
that another small fansite 'paled' in comparison to SimFreaks.
This brings the total of Simsites falling far short of the
SimFreaks standard (including this one) to a shocking 98.7%.
Sim looks forward to 30th birthday
celebrations
|
Jackson Five, longtime resident of futuristic Neighbourhood
Seven, announced today that he was 'eagerly' looking
forward to his forthcoming 30th birthday celebrations.
"I'll
be the oldest Sim out of all my friends" he joked,
"But I guess someone has to be."

Five: birthday surprise
|
|
Jackson
(29) knows that his friends have a big surprise planned
for the event, but isn't sure of the details yet.
"I
know I overheard some of them talking about Carousel
the other day" he recalled "Wouldn't
that be great? I love that movie!"

Issue 16 poll results: Readers reject 'Not to be'
option
The readers of The Sim
have spoken: and we must surely listen. For a full 70% of
readers chose to brave the slings and arrows of outrageous
fortune by voting 'To be'. Which is good news for the continued readership of this
site.
Yet even so, a full 30% opted to take arms against a
sea of troubles, and by opposing end them. And to them we
say: 'Cheer up, dude!'
